Glossy Black Birding Day

The hunt for the threatened Glossy Black Cockatoo is on again this year on Sunday 3 May 2015.

Spicers Retreats is very excited to support the annual Glossy Black Conservancy Birding Day by welcoming visitors to Spicers Peak Lodge and Spicers Hidden Vale - where we are often sighting Glossies.

The Conservancy is seeking volunteers to assist in sighting the bird as well as orts (chewed up she-oak cones) to contribute to the annual survey to assess trends in the population, including changes in distribution and recruitment.

Last year a total of 154 observers signed on with 89 birds sighted and 95 feed trees recorded.

All volunteers will go into the draw to win a Scenic Rim Trail experience.
