Reservations & booking conditions
The retreat will be exclusively yours, a private nature haven for you and your group. At the time of your reservation, your full booking fee will be due for payment. Payment can be made via credit card or direct deposit. Free cancellation up to 60 days prior to arrival. Date changes permitted subject to availability. Cancellations within 60 days are non-refundable.
Arrival & Departure
Private Groups & Conferences:
Check-in is from 2pm on your day of arrival and the location of Spicers Canopy is The end of Gross Road, Tregony, QLD 4370 28°04’43.1″S 152°20’52.2″E. Check-out is up to 10am on your day of departure.
Family Adventure Guests:
- 9.30am meet and greet at Crest Car Park Cunningham Hwy Main Range National Park
- Guided hike up to Mt Cordeaux with morning tea and lunch on the trail
- Self-drive to Spicers Canopy
Getting Here
The retreat is located in Maryvale, the address is Gross Road, Maryvale 4370. The Google Maps coordinates are 28°04’42.2″S 152°20’52.1″E which will take you straight to the camp. If you are coming past Aratula, the turn off will be on the left-hand side of the road. You will be looking for a sign that says Spicers Peak Lodge, this is where you turn.
As you meander further along through our farmlands you will come upon a Spicers Canopy sign, this is where we will meet you at the designated meeting time. Spicers Canopy is accessible cars and 4WD; if it has been raining please take extra care.
We will provide you with the phone numbers of our staff members before your arrival, if you do get lost on the way to us, please give us a call and we will provide you with detailed instructions.
Tents
The retreat has 10 individual tents, each featuring a private deck with armchairs and a table, polished timber floors, a Spicers king size bed or two single beds, please let us know how you would like the tents configured when you book with us. The tents have ample lighting and charging points that run off the mains power.
The maximum capacity for each tent is two people and the maximum capacity for the site is 18 people (2 people in each tent).
Bathrooms
There are three communal bathrooms, connected to the main lodge. In each bathroom, there is a toilet, large shower & 2 basins, and both the toilet and shower spaces are individually lockable. Towels, bathmats & bathroom products (including shampoo, conditioner & body wash) are all available in the bathrooms for you to use during your stay.
Amenities
All bedding will be provided including sheets, pillows, duvet and towels. Amenities including shampoo, conditioner and body wash will be provided for the showers and hand wash for the sink. Firewood and fire-starting supplies are provided in the main lodge.
What do I need to bring?
As an all inclusive experience you only need to bring your personal items, here are a few recommendations:
- Swimming costume for the plunge pool
- Hat and sunscreen
- Hiking boots or appropriate footwear
- Phone & camera charger
- In winter temperatures can drop below 5 degrees overnight so please bring warm clothing such as beanie, thermals, warm bed socks, balaclava, gloves.
- Personal medical kit & any medications
Are there shops nearby?
No there aren’t any shops near by so being prepared is important. The closest large town is Warwick, which is 40 minutes drive away. The small town of Aratula is 20 minutes away.
