We are excited to be able to extend to you an invitation for an exclusive dinner featuring the new release wines of one of the most exciting producers in Tasmania, Tolpuddle.
Just twenty minutes out of Hobart lies the Coal River Valley, home to the Tolpuddle vineyard and one of the most exciting emerging regions in Australia for both pinot noir and chardonnay. In 2011 Adelaide Hills royalty, Martin Shaw and Michael Hill-Smith (aka Shaw and Smith), bought the vineyard with the grandiose dream of procuring from it the country’s finest single vineyard pinot noir and chardonnay. Today, with only a handful of vintages under their belt, Tolpuddle has already delivered some of the state’s most exciting wines and set the bar for single vineyard wines in the Apple Isle. Their 2017 pinot noir has just received a staggering 99 point score from James Sucking, a remarkable achievement and one which sets a new high mark for Australian pinot noir.
So it is with great pleasure that at this upcoming dinner event we can introduce you to the latest vintage of these delectable wines, including the 99 point pinot noir, which are to be served alongside both their 2014 and 2012 vintage counterparts. These wines will be also paired with a specially prepared menu from the talented kitchen at Spicers Balfour. Hosted by winemaker Adam Wadewitz, this is sure to be not only a highly enjoyable dinner, but an historical one, which will provide attendees with a great insight into what could be Australia’s greatest ever pinot noir, and the estate and region from which these great wines are born.
