Constellations by campfire
Join your guide around the comfort of an evening campfire to experience the stars as they have been experienced by Aboriginal Australians for more than 40,000 years.
Through the oral tradition of storytelling, learn about one of the oldest astronomical knowledge systems known to man.
Sit back and relax with drink in hand, as your guide describes the different interpretations placed upon the stars by language groups spread across the length and breadth of Aboriginal Australia.
Learn how these stories form the foundation for the social, moral, cultural and religious customs of an entire nation of people; their ancestors and their descendants.
Enjoy the warmth of your cultural campfire yarn for approximately 30 minutes before venturing outside, away from the lodge lights, to read the stories as they are written in the night sky.
The total duration of this experience is 30-45 minutes. Cultural campfire yarns will continue to run during inclement weather. Night sky viewing is weather dependent.
Complimentary experiences are offered over a rotating weekly roster. You will be advised of daily experiences upon arrival. Alternatively, please contact reception to enquire about making a private booking.
