From the northern side of Cunningham’s Gap, follow the winding hiking trail to Mt Cordeaux, through vibrant rainforest, listening out for the flawless mimicry and perhaps even a glimpse of the threatened Albert’s lyrebird known to inhabit the mountainside.
Discover the diversity of vegetation as your guide takes you over creeks alive with native ginger and raspberries, through lush rainforest ferns and mosses, to the incredible Giant Spear Lily that thrives on the approach to the Mt Cordeaux summit.
Learn about the gold mining history of Mt Cordeaux and the significance of the mountain in bridging the east coast with the inland region now known as the Darling Downs.
