Option 3: The Serenity of Sangoma – A Mindful Walking Meditation

Experience the Serenity of Sangoma through a guided walking meditation utilising the five senses of sight, sound, scent, touch and taste to bring you fully into the present moment. Nature is a powerful antidote to the stress of modern living. At a slow pace we mindfully walk to see the beauty around us, listen to the songs of birds and feel the sun and breeze against our cheek.

The ancient Japanese art of ‘Shinrin Yoku,’ otherwise known as forest bathing, has been proven to have a positive effect on our physical and mental health and wellbeing. A compound released by trees and plants called phytonicide, turns out to be good for us humans too, by helping to boost the immune system.

Benefits of walking meditation can include – better sleep, greater creative
flow, an improvement in mood and a decrease in stress and anxiety.

As we walk, we will learn breathing techniques to stop our ‘monkey-mind’ from worrying about the past or the future. These are tools that you will be able to take back home with you and effortlessly incorporate into your busy lifestyle. Conducted at a leisurely pace, each step we take will be a journey grounding us back to the nurturing and healing energy of mother earth.

It is recommended that participants wear comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes for walking, as well as take adequate sun protection.
