The retreat will be exclusively yours, a private nature haven for you and your group. At the time of reservation, a 50% deposit is required to secure your booking. Final payment is due 7 days prior to arrival. Payment can be made via credit card or direct deposit. Our cancellation policy is as follows; within 14 days 50% cancellation fee, within 7 days a 100% cancellation fee will apply.

Arrival & Departure

Check-in is from 10am on your day of arrival, check-out is up to 4pm on your day of departure. You will meet one of our team members at our meeting point. They will either transfer you or lead you to the Spicers Canopy site, where they will give you a rundown of the site and show you where everything is. You will receive no keys on arrival as our staff will open and close down the property, before and after you leave.

Getting Here

The Retreat is located in Maryvale, the address is Gross Road, Maryvale 4370.  The Google Maps coordinates are 28°04’42.2″S 152°20’52.1″E which will take you straight to the camp. If you are coming past Aratula, the turn off will be on the left-hand side of the road. You will be looking for a sign that says Spicers Peak Lodge, this is where you turn.

When you take the turn off, you will turn onto a dirt road and you will see a sign and some houses on the right-hand side of the road, there is a sign there that says Spicers Canopy, this will be where you will meet our staff member who will transfer you or show you the way to Spicers Canopy (the exact address is of the meeting point 1095 South Branch Road, Tregony, 4370). Spicers Canopy is accessible by 4WD; if it has been raining please take extra care.

We will provide you with the phone numbers of our staff members before your arrival, if you do get lost on the way to us, please give us a call and our staff will talk you through how to get there.


The retreat has 10 individual tents, each featuring a private deck with armchairs and a table, polished timber floors, a Spicers king size bed (or two single beds, please let us know how you would like the tents configured when you book with us). The tents have ample lighting that run off the mains power. You will have to take your devices, including mobile phones into the main lodge to charge them as there are no additional power points in the tents.

The maximum capacity for each tent is two people & the maximum capacity for the site is 20 people (2 people in each tent).


There are three shared, beautifully appointed bathrooms, located at the back of the main lodge. In each bathroom, there is a toilet, large shower & 2 basins, and both the toilet and shower spaces are individually lockable. Towels, bathmats & bathroom products (including shampoo, conditioner & body wash) are all available in the bathrooms for you to use during your stay.


All bedding will be provided including sheets, pillows, duvet and towels. Amenities including shampoo, conditioner and body wash will be provided for the showers and hand wash for the sink. Toilet paper and bin liners will also be provided. Firewood and fire-starting supplies are provided in the main lodge.

Lounge, Kitchen & Catering

The retreat has a beautiful main lodge with a large dining table & two extra-long tables and chairs outside. The kitchen is stocked with all the cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils you need for your self-catering getaway. Below is a detailed list to help you plan your meals.

Fire Pit

Outside of the main lodge is a purpose-built outdoor fire pit with wooden seating. All firewood is provided and is stored at the side of the main lodge. Please check local fire ratings prior to your arrival and if by chance a total fire ban is in place please don’t light the fire. We recommend dousing the fire with water before going to bed or when you are done with the fire.
