Lauren and Daniel had the sweetest and most loved up wedding, quietly rolling out in the hillsides of Maleny back in September 2020. I had the honour of documenting their day and I would love to share with you a little look into how absolutely adorable their wedding day was.
We were still in the midst of the pandemic (I mean we still are, but if felt so much more pandemic-y last year) and restrictions were still in place. Their guest list was numbered and there was strictly no dancing to be had at the reception. That last restriction is something that Lauren and I kept a very close eye on leading up to their wedding day. What's a wedding dance floor with out moves being busted all over it?
Any bride could have easily been excused for being a little stressed out and kind of bridezilla-ish being married during a pandemic and restricted to how the day will roll out. Add to that storm clouds threatening to burst open all day... but not Lauren. She was a total cucumber the entire day.
She told me how she didn't really care what happened, she was just happy to be here, with her future husband Daniel and her closest loved ones. She danced the entire day, through the house when she was getting ready, on the verandah as the rain started to show up, down the aisle and through to the night.
There were stories shared on this beautiful day of loved ones lost and their heavy absence weighed down at times. Through it all, you could still feel their presence in gifts left behind, beautiful memories relived and their love that was unwaivering. The tears shed were of both longing and joy. The closeness of Lauren and Daniel's families filled the day with warmth and a welcomeness.
This was a beautiful reminder of what everything is about. This life, why we do what we do. It's about this. Love. Family. Your soulmate. In the midst of a dark year, this wedding was a shining light.
To Lauren and Daniel, you two crazy kids, I hope this world brings you all of the kindness, joy and spirit that you give to it everyday x
