Cooking Class - Southern Thai

In this class you’ll master the flavours of Malaysia, China and Cambodia to create a unique menu for you to devour. Our talented Tamarind chefs at Spicers Tamarind Retreat will show you how to incorporate simple ingredients and cooking methods from each country to produce full flavoured dishes during your culinary tour of Asia. Of course the best part is eating your dishes at the end of the class!

Gluten free, vegetarian and dairy free food allergies can be catered for in this class. Please note your food allergies in ‘Special Requests’ at the time of booking.

For $225 per person- The class includes lunch, one glass of wine, an apron to take home and a recipe book with all the dishes you cooked so you can recreate them at home.

Class runs from 11am – 3pm.

Southern Thai menus

Spring Menu

  • Lon Gai Dtow Jiaw – Relish of ground chicken, coconut cream, dried chilli and yellow soy bean served with spooning vegetables
  • Yum Som Tom – Salad of green papaya, beans, tomato, dried shrimp, peanuts, chilli and lime
  • Som Rot Talay – Medley of fish, prawns and scallops pan fried with 3 flavour sauce, crispy fried basil and roasted rice
  • Pat Pak Ruam Farang – Stir fried asparagus with light soy sauce and crispy shallots

Summer menu

  • Dtom Yam Gai – Spicy clear soup of chicken, mushrooms, lemongrass and lime.
  • Yum Woon Sen – Glass noodle salad of ground pork, prawns, chilli, lime, Asian shoots and leaves
  • Geng Gwio Warn Talay – Green curry of coconut, mixed seafood, Thai eggplant, chilli and Thai basil
  • Pat Pak Ruam – Stir fried Asian vegetables with oyster sauce and crispy garlic
