Abigail- Operations Lead & Trail Guide
Having grown up on a nature refuge in Far North Queensland, Abbie is a naturalist who is most at home finding adventure in the great outdoors. Camping and hiking expeditions have taken Abbie through 26 countries including Borneo, Tanzania, Romania and Russia.
One of her greatest joys as a guide with the Scenic Rim Trail is being able to share her love of nature with every single guest. Abbie has a Bachelor of Journalism and is an avid photographer and videographer who spends time exploring wild places and bird watching.
Chantelle- Nature Guide
Chantelle is an enthusiastic & hardworking outdoor guide. Always smiling and with an eye for detail when it comes to customer service. Growing up on the Gold Coast meant that she was never too far away from experiences in the outdoors.
Having lived in Canada, hiking, guiding & snowboarding for 4 years, Chantelle decided to return to Australia to pursue her passion and love of working with other outdoors enthusiasts. Chantelle is a firm believer in learning through experience and is keen to share her passion with you.
Casey- Nature Guide
Casey joined the Scenic Rim Trail team in 2018 to share her passion and enthusiasm for the environment. Casey is one of the most grateful people you will meet, grateful for life and all life that crosses her path. Casey believes there is nothing better than being able to work outdoors, creating awareness of how we can become a healthier “greener” society. To Casey, life is a giant jigsaw puzzle, a constant learning curve and an adventurous ride. Casey’s philosophy: What better way to start your day than with fresh air and a good hike!
Karmen- Nature Guide
Karmen joined Scenic Rim Trail in August 2016 as a mountain bike guide and has since become part of our hiking team. She’s been a local in the Lockyer Valley for 9 years after moving around Australia with her RAAF family, and has 6 years of customer service experience. With a degree in Wildlife Science at UQ, she also assists with the ecological research throughout Spicers properties and volunteers annually with marine turtle research at Bundaberg and Heron Island.
Natalie- Camp Host
Natalie is an exciting new addition to the Scenic Rim Trail team in 2018 after coming from a background in wellness retreats and a variety of host roles on a group of islands in Indonesia and also Australia. She loves working in nature and has a keen interest in Permaculture and bush flower medicine. Natalie looks forward to welcoming you to Spicers Canopy.
Paul is a father of four whose children have now all grown up and left home. He has been passionate about food and cooking for as long as he can remember and when he’s not in the kitchen, his hobby is medieval reenactment where he participates in the disciplines of combat, archery and medieval cooking from 200 BC Roman through to 15th-century French cooking.
Zachary – Chef
Zachary is a local lad who grew up in the Aratula area. He completed his apprenticeship at Spicers Hidden Vale in the Homage kitchen. When he’s not cooking, Zachary is working on the family farm. Zachary’s passion for cooking and love of meeting folks from all walks of life lead him to join the Scenic Rim Trail team. Zachary loves working at Spicers Canopy because it allows him to combine his love of cooking and the great outdoors.
Edward – Maintenance
Edward is a local to the Scenic Rim and Lockyer Downs regions, having lived in the area for over 20 years. Ed has worked various jobs around the region as well as travelling interstate and overseas. He knows most of the local fauna and flora, as well as bushcraft and some wilderness survival.
Stephanie – House Keeping
Stephanie looks after the house keeping and administration for the Scenic Rim Trail and is our Green Ambassador. She has been with Spicers since 2014 but only joined the Scenic Rim Trail team in 2018. Stephanie joined the Scenic Rim Trail team as she enjoys the outdoors and also loves the opportunity to continue implementing eco practices which minimise our impact on the environment.
