Christmas Design Tips

Decorating tips for Christmas

How we do it at Spicers

untitled-1

1. Cluster your decorations together to make a beautiful vignette

Add WOW factor and depth for everyone to see. Pictured above is the corner of our gorgeous barn at Spicers Hidden Vale. In this example, we’ve replicated the rustic feel of our country property in our Christmas decorations by using raw materials and wooden wine boxes for added dimension and height.

2. Add some SPICE (..literally!)

Spice up your table setting; star anise, cinnamon sticks and cloves make a gorgeous addition to any table setting and they smell great too!  Use them to tie napkins, to decorate name cards, or in a wreath as part of a centrepiece.

3. Be adventurous with your colour theme

Think copper and green; silver and white; blue and purple. When you stick to one colour story or scheme, but mix with a variety of tones, finish types and textures, your Christmas decorations will sing out across your home. Pictured is the colour scheme used at Spicers Balfour Hotel to help bring an extra pop of colour into our art-deco design hotel.
