Christmas tree decorating tips from the Design Team

1. Consider your tree’s location

This will determine the extent of your decorating. If it’s placed in a corner it will hide some of bare branches at the back.

2.String the Lights

Starting at the bottom and working your way up around the tree to the top. Stagger your light bulbs and tuck some into the tree for visual depth.

3. Hang Large Ornaments

Start with a few of your heavier filler ornaments in various textures in the same colour tones (matte, shiny, glitter) to start.

4. Favourites to the front

Hang your favourite ornaments next towards the front so that they nab prime tree real estate.

5. Fill the rest

Add your smaller ornaments to fill any blank dark patches or holes.

6. Finishing touches

More is more at Christmas; even if you don’t normally like glitter and sparkle, embrace it for your tree! The frosted details look great by day and twinkle beautifully at night!

7. Don’t forget to spread the Christmas cheer beyond the tree

Place garlands along your stairs, or a wreath on your front door. An easy and fast way to make space more festive!
