Mum is a busy woman. She’s constantly torn between work, kids, sport, a social life… the list goes on. What she really wants this year is an opportunity to just stop and do something for herself or enjoy some special time with you. You can buy a Gift Voucher for Mum and she can use it at any Spicers day spa, restaurant or retreat. So here are a few ideas…
A spa voucher
There are few things in life more relaxing than lying on a massage table in tranquil surroundings as she enjoys a luxury spa treatment. Perhaps a soothing hot stone treatment or ying yang massage to help restore balance and harmony? Or maybe she would prefer a facial, mani or pedi? The Spicers Retreats’ on-site day spa Spa Anise, located at five of the retreats is the answer. A one-hour treatment starts from $145 up and can extend to up to 5-hours for a signature day spa experience.
Lunch or dinner out
She’s prepared countless meals for the family over the years, and Mother’s Day is a great chance for Mum to take the day off and let someone else do the cooking. Seven out of the eight award-winning, on-site Spicers restaurants are open for bookings for both guests and visitors. Our acclaimed chefs share the same philosophy, with a focus on fresh, sustainable seasonal produce sourced locally or from the restaurants own garden. Our experiences offer modern Australian, Italian, French, Thai and other Asian cuisine, which can be paired with matching wines for the full experience.
A cooking class
On the other hand, your Mum may love cooking so much that she wants to learn more! Consider booking her a class at The Tamarind Cooking School, overlooking beautiful gardens in the middle of a rainforest at Tamarind Spicers Retreat in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, to hone her skills. She may like to take part in a Thai cooking class, South East Asian, French, dessert cooking demonstration or even bread making. The school offers long course cooking classes from 11am to 3pm every Saturday and short course demonstrations once a month on a Sunday from 11am to 1pm.
A weekend away
Mothers’ Day may only last for 24 hours, but surely Mum has earned a longer break than that? How about going all out and giving her a whole weekend off to relax and rejuvenate? Spicers Retreats has nine retreats in NSW and Queensland to choose from for an indulgent weekend getaway. Spicers Clovelly Estate, at Montville in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, provides the perfect antidote to Mum’s busy life, with everything from plasma TVs in rooms to a French cheese and wine tasting experience and even the option of a hinterland food and wine tour. If Mum wants to get outdoors to refresh, she can take the rainforest walk, partake in yoga on the deck or go shopping in nearby Montville. Of course, she can also indulge at the Spa Anise day spa and the Chef Hatted restaurant, The Long Apron, while she’s there. And that’s just one retreat…
